DIESSE ANNOUNCES ITS ENTRY INTO VETERINARY MEDICINE WITH THE FIRST INSTRUMENT FOR MEASURING ESR IN ANIMALS

Thursday 15 October 2020

DIESSE Diagnostica Senese has announced the first instrument for measuring ESR (the erythrocyte sedimentation rate) in veterinary laboratories.

The ESR is an indirect and progressive indicator of acute inflammatory states, which will support the veterinarian in accurately diagnosing chronic diseases and systemic inflammations.

The DIESSE system, called MINI-PET, offers a portable and easy-to-use solution for measuring ESR in less than 15 minutes, thus allowing you to monitor the health of the animal.

"We are proud," said Massimiliano Boggetti, CEO of DIESSE "to add to the world of diagnostics an instrument which showcases our history and our skill, as is the case with the VES line. DIESSE's years of accumulated knowledge and high quality make it the ideal partner for the development of diagnostic tests in the veterinary field. Domestic animals", he continued, "are increasingly part of our family and therefore there is an increasing need for innovative techniques in veterinary diagnostics, in order to guarantee their health. For the time being, DIESSE has announced this small, but useful, instrument for vets".

Effective and simple to use, the MINI-PET currently measures the ESR of dogs, cats and horses, directly in the sample tube. It requires a minimum of 0.5 ml blood for analysis, and results are obtained without sample consumption or the production of waste liquids.
